First heat with INTECO VAR plant at Ruspolymet

After the successful start-up of the VIM and the ESR furnace in the last months, INTECO’s engineers are currently focusing on the commissioning of the 6t VAR furnace. In a project characterized of a very close cooperation between both project teams, mid of November the first VAR ingot was successfully remelted.

This VAR furnace will complete the new special melting and remelting shop at Ruspolymet in Kulebaki, Russia and represents the latest technology in the field of Vacuum Arc Remelting featuring precise drip short control, lowest vacuum levels and Helium cooling for superior solidification patterns. All three furnaces are perfectly harmonized in order to remelt electrodes produced in the VIM furnace either in the ESR or VAR or even in a double remelting process for most demanding industries.
