First Heat at Uddeholm

Beginning of October and according to the overall project schedule, the first heat was successfully carried out with INTECO ESR furnace number three at the Swedish premium steel producer Uddeholm.

The installed electro slag remelting furnace is more or less identical to the previous INTECO plants and produces ingots with a maximum diameter of 1200mm and approximately 30t. With this third furnace up and running the worldwide leading tool steel producer will further increase its remelting capacity.

Uddeholm and INTECO have had a very rewarding cooperation in exchanging information for future improvements, a cooperation that both will benefit from in the future.
